Beach Hut Resorts has unveiled the first of twenty one luxury overnight stay beach huts to be located at Dukes Walk, Whitley Bay near Newcastle upon Tyne.

The new concept beach huts are available to rent from £300 to £400 per week and feature bedroom, bathroom, kitchen and seating area. The huts are fully equipped with shower, cooker, microwave, hi-fi, wi-fi, double glazing and full insulation.

Beach Hut Resorts has secured a number of sites for further development and is currently in negotiations with coastal Councils throughout the UK to develop a chain of day-stay and overnight stay beach hut complexes.

Beach Hut Resorts spokesperson Alex Miller says:

“Beach Hut Resorts will transform the traditional British seaside holiday by offering affordable, luxury accommodation only metres from the beach. With the increased popularity of the ‘staycation’ we have had considerable interest from families even before we had our demonstrator unit on site. But the benefits of Beach Hut Resorts extend beyond a fantastic seaside holiday. Unlike the Family Park concept where everything is provided on-site, our guests will help support the local economy by visiting attractions, eating out and using local shops”

The Beach Hut Resorts Whitley Bay development is the first resort in a planned £35m roll-out throughout the UK. Each beach hut will sleep between two to six people depending upon design, and each resort will be attached to an art gallery with 24 hour security and concierge service. Links Art Gallery was opened at the Dukes Walk site by Linda Arkley, elected Mayor of North Tyneside, on the 24th of July this year.

The Cyrenians and Beach Hut Resorts

As part of its exciting proposals Beach Huts Resort is looking to manufacture beach huts in the North East with The Cyrenians, a North East based charity.

The Cyrenians works with vulnerable and homeless people and this contract would provide extensive training and employment opportunities.

A prototype beach hut of the type which is being considered by North Tyneside Council has been made by Brighter Futures and TCUK Property Services, both part of The Cyrenians.

The Cyrenians is an award-winning North East Charity which supports vulnerable and homeless people. Brighter Futures is a constructions skills training company which works with people who seek out The Cyrenians for support and TCUK Property Services employs graduates and trainees from Brighter Futures.

Chris Burn, Operations Director of TCUK Property Services explained:
“Construction skills training is an excellent way of helping people who have been chronically disadvantaged and who have suffered chaotic lives to re-establish themselves. Through their retraining they develop new skills and confidence to help them get back into the world of work.“

Dan Miller of Beach Hut Resorts, said:
“We are very keen to work in partnership with Brighter Futures and TCUK Property Services on this exciting project; it has the potential to provide many excellent training and employment opportunities and to deliver benefit more widely into the community.
